Electrical Studies for Trades 5th Edition by Stephen L. Herman pdf book
Electricity is the driving force that provides most of the power for
the industrialized world. It is used to light homes, cook meals, heat
and cool buildings, drive motors, and supply the ignition for most
automobiles. The technician who understands electricity can seek
employment in almost any part of the world.
Electrical sources are divided into two basic types, direct current
(DC) and alternating current (AC). Direct current is unidirectional,
which means that it flows in only one direction. The first part of this
text will be devoted mainly to the study of direct current. Alternating
current is bidirectional, which means that it reverses its direction of
flow at regular intervals. The latter part of this text is devoted mainly
to the study of alternating current.
